The new Massivemag.com is brought to you by the volunteer efforts of a dedicated band of old school Massive Posse, determined to make available the old archives and present new content. Your Massivemag.com catalog orders help pay for the substantial costs of developing, maintaining, and improving the website (booze and ephedrine really). However, if you've had your fill of Massive goodies, we also accept donations towards the cause. The bigger the better. After all these years, some of our crack-smoking readers must've finally got off the pipe and struck it big in the derivatives market or was smart enough to invest in lottery tickets. Send some of that money over this way. Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy nostalgia. Last, we're no better than those scumbags we send to Washington: Money talks. If you have an idea for what you'd like to see on Massivemag.com, include it as a note with your donation!

This section of Massive was originally going to be a compilation of opinions, writings, and quotes from local zines and scenesters - all related to the use of drugs at parties - with heavy emphasis on the overuse of Extacy. Well, based on what I have witnessed at parties recently, along with my knowledge of human behavior in general, I have realized that this is a subject that can't be handled in a round-about manner. There is no way I can honestly HINT to the destruction that excessive drug use is causing within our scene. Some of you will never understand, while others will only realizethe effects when it strikes them personally, i.e. constant paranoia, bad health, impudence, death. Why do I have such distrust in humanity and possibly your intelligence? Because you have already been served your HINTS -- you know the FACTS. Extasy has destroyed party scenes elsewhere - most scenesters know this. Most scenesters agree that something must be done. Most scenesters are the ones who continue to buy, sell and consume Extacy at parties. Why? Greed and Stupidity - two things that the word RAVE is meant to wipe out. There's good money in selling drugs - anyone can tell you that. There are people who can't have a good time without drugs - that's just plain stupid. They work together. At the same time, the scene is going to shit - a scene that I feel partially responsible for creating - we all should. I choose to go drug-free at parties, and have had the religious experience of intense human interaction - which serves the best high - better than any drug has given me. I know everyone can feel the same things I have - it just takes an open mind and free conscious. "Well, I'm shy…" Do you think you are the only one? Don't use drugs to break down your 'wall' - because you're only creating yet another, synthetic one to convey to others. If you must use these 'wonder drugs' - use them with small groups of friends or by yourself - if you think you're responsible enough - get to know yourself and refine the aspects that hold you back. Then come to the parties and have the experience of meeting other young, wide-eyed, sober, REAL people. "I'm praying for our first overdose…maybe that will save our scene." Anonymous "I constantly hear things about 'Future, we are the future…' Ok, so when are you going to stop Xing and be a part of it? The future is now." Katya Roelsa (ATP excerpt) "I think more kids are getting into the Extasy than into the techno. If they all get into Extasy, then they relate it with techno…that's the death of techno - Extasy…as soon as the desire for the drug goes, and the kid gets older, they don't want to hear it."
